The Upstate SC Chapter of Sisters in Crime hopes you can join us on February 3rd when Tammy Euliano -- author, physician, researcher, inventor, tenured professor, and puzzle aficionado -- will speak to us about her established career as a medical professional and her newly found fame as an author of medical thrillers.  Tammy's first novel has been highly praised by Lee Child, Kathy Reichs, Steve Berry, Tess Gerritsen and others. Tammy will also also answer any questions you might have about the medical profession (as it relates to our writing -- no free medical advice please :-).

Tammy Euliano writes medical thrillers. She's inspired by her day job as a physician, researcher and medical educator. She is a tenured professor at the University of Florida, where she's been honored with numerous teaching awards, nearly 100,000 views of her YouTube teaching videos, and was featured in a calendar of women inventors (copies available wherever you buy your out-of-date calendars). Her debut novel, a medical thriller titled Fatal Intent, was published by Oceanview in March, 2021. She has a second novel under contract. Her short fiction has been recognized by Glimmer Train, Bards & Sages, Flame Tree Press, Flash Fiction Magazine, and others. James L'Etoile, Guest Speaker

The Upstate SC Chapter of Sisters in Crime hopes you can join us on January 6th when James L'Etoile, nationally recognized expert on prison operations and former hostage negotiator, will tell us how working in the correctional system influenced his writing, where movies and books get it wrong, and answer any questions you have about "prison-life."

James L’Etoile uses his twenty-nine years behind bars as an influence in his novels, short stories, and screenplays. He is a former associate warden in a maximum-security prison, a hostage negotiator, facility captain, and director of California’s state parole system. He is a nationally recognized expert witness on prison and jail operations. He has been nominated for the Silver Falchion for Best Procedural Mystery, and The Bill Crider Award for short fiction.
